How to fill in a PDF form
- Drop your PDF.
- If it has fields, fill them in the list. Otherwise, click on the page to type text or add a tick.
- Download the filled PDF, flattened if you want to lock the values.
Frequently asked questions
My form has no fields: how do I fill it in?
That is the case for many scanned forms or forms printed and scanned again. Choose “Type on the document”, click where you want and type your text. You can also add a tick or a cross in the boxes.
What does “Flatten the fields” do?
It turns the filled fields into ordinary text: nobody can change the values any more, and the document looks the same everywhere. Keep an unflattened copy if you may need to correct it later.
Some characters are replaced with “?”. Why?
Text is written with the standard Helvetica font, which covers Western European letters, accents and the euro sign, but not emoji or some alphabets. Those characters are replaced with a question mark.
Is my PDF uploaded to the internet?
No. The form is read and filled in your browser: your personal details never leave your device.
